FAITH PARTNERS
Substance Abuse Team Ministry
A Congregational Survey was recently handed out as a step toward this ministry. 97 surveys were returned. 99% of respondents indicated support for such a ministry. Strong numbers also showed up for persons in favor of: Reaching out to people who suffer - 76% Teaching parents prevention strategies - 84% Prevention programs for youth - 80% Programs to help spouses talk - 70% Providing space for recovery programs - 75%
NO ONE of these items is a “for sure” plan. A team will be formed from persons who indicated interest. After training, the team will deliberate on what will be timely, helpful, and appropriate for Northridge to be aware and better prepared to prevent or help substance abuse cases. Please pray for this ministry. Down the line, there will be helps that many of you can give.
WHAT DOES SILENCE CREATE ?
Modern living is noisy. It is frenetic, over-scheduled, and driven by electronics. Help us see Your things, less of ours. Help us appreciate, instead of agitate. Help us know our place, and not just our schedules. Help us know that life is too short to hurry. Restore awe within us by shutting us up and slowing us down (Psalm 8) -Cliff |
