Faith Partners

“You Can Help” Presentation

Today   -   4:30 pm   -   Annex

Last Sunday, the Elders and the Northridge Faith Partners Team announced the need, the support, and a ministry for victims and sufferers of addictions and self-destructive behaviors.  We hope you noticed the bulletin board, the easel, the posters and the bulletin article that demonstrate our mission.

This afternoon you can gain a bigger picture of Faith Partners and learn about the several parts of our ministry plan.  We want you to see yourself helping in the work and rewards of this opportunity.  We will answer questions, alleviate fears, and envision wonderful possibilities.

You Can Help.  There will be many ways to serve - big and small, now and then, here and there!  Please read the Faith Partners brochure (with the rainbow colors) before you come.  Pray for this effort.

Today you will learn more about:

   * Youth Prevention Activities and Prevention

   * Family Education and Help Opportunities

   * “Catch’em Doing Good” Recognition Program

   *  Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Education

(we have purchased lifelike infant simulators to teach the effects of alcohol and drugs on babies - a fascinating reachout!)

We will tell you more about Information and Referral, Connections to the Recovery Community, and the Safe Haven Mentor Project.

The Serenity Prayer

(made popular by recovery groups)

God, grant me the

Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

Courage to change the things I can, and

Wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time;

Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.

Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.

Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will,

That I may be reasonably happy in this life

And supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
