SHARE GROUPS
Today is last day for signing up.
Our pilot SHARE Group met on Sunday nights in homes during September and October. The group ranged in age from about 30 years old to 85. There were several children involved. Here are some of their reactions to that experience.
“It was wonderful. We felt like we have only just begun. There is so much potential.” “I think groups are necessary. You don’t just see the same Sunday evening people you merely so ‘Hi” to anyway. This draws us closer like family.” “We gained a very different knowledge of one another.” “When Nicole (Stevens) Curry was baptized we felt like ‘She’s from our group!’ There was a sense of oneness.” Nicole on the group: “I really looked forward to it.”
“We belonged to one another. Just having someone read scripture on Sunday morning made us feel like “He’s in our group!’” “We actually confessed faults to one another. I knew someone there for 30 years and found out that I never really knew them. We learned about lives.” “I felt like I was in something that was bigger than just me.” “I feel like we could celebrate multiplying. The goal is to have more Christians.”
“We are told that ‘every joint supplies.’ The care and concern happens naturally.” “It’s not near as big a deal having people in homes. Not once you get to know them.” “We had to be careful to watch that our Bible study didn’t go too long! We’d get to talking and crowd out snack time.” “Fellowship backs up the lesson. Small talk becomes more important.” “We love Northridge, but we did not miss the rest of you in the same way you missed us!”
These comments were collected from the pilot group in a meeting with the Small Group committee. That group consisted of Robert and Marty Pettyjohn, Wayne and Nadine Stephens, Alan and Janie Buck and children, Stan and Kim Curry and children, Larry Stillwell, Alice Morgan, and Juanita Arrington.
Ask them. Catch the Excitement and Vision.
